Marek Juras is a native of Zlín, living in Prague, and perceives himself as a photographic enthusiast. For the past decade, he has dedicated himself to the female nude, inspired by compositions from the avant-garde period of the early twentieth century. He focuses on studio work with artificial lights and handcrafted accessories. Photography is not his profession, which grants him creative freedom. He takes pleasure in the fact that his creations can bring joy not only to himself but also to others. In photography, he seeks playfulness, sophistication, and visual allure. He believes that the best works arise from a combination of a thoughtful intention and the charm of the unintended. The exhibited photographs are author's copies developed in the traditional way from printed digital negatives. Gradually, he is discovering the magic of other historical photographic processes, such as gum printing or oil printing.
